Dr. David Freeman was born in Selma. He grew up just south of
Fresno, near Easton, on his family's farm. Dr. Freeman graduated as Valedictorian from Washington Union High School where he also played tennis. After high school he attended Brigham Young University. In the middle of his undergraduate work, he spent two years in the Dominican Republic. While there he learned to speak fluent Spanish. He returned to BYU where he met and married his wife, Emily, and later graduated with his Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering. Dr. Freeman returned to his home state for dental school at the University of California at San Francisco, and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree (DDS). He graduated at the top of his class and with honors. While in dental school, Dr. Freeman earned several awards for outstanding leadership and research. His first daughter was born in his final year of dental school. Next, the family moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan. There Dr. Freeman completed a three-year orthodontic residency program at the University of Michigan and received his Orthodontic Certificate and his Masters degree in Science (MS). A second daughter was born during this time. After finishing his orthodontic training, Dr. Freeman was eager to move back to California to be near his friends and family in the state that he loves. He has been working in the area for almost 2 years. While here, the Freeman family has welcomed a third daughter. Dr. Freeman and his family love living in Clovis and enjoy being part of the community. Dr. Freeman has been heavily involved in the realm of scientific research. He has performed research in the fields of enamel bonding and early orthodontic treatment. Dr. Freeman presented some of his findings at the IADR (International Association of Dental Research) and his Masters thesis was recently published in the May 2009 American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. Dr. Freeman enjoys staying on the cutting edge of orthodontic technologies. He is also a certified provider of Invisalign. Dr. Freeman is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics (ABO), meaning he is among a small percentage of orthodontists who are Board Certified. Board certification is a voluntary examination process that an orthodontist may choose to go through as a sign of their commitment to excellence in orthodontics. Dr. Freeman is a member of the following organizations:
Dr. Freeman enjoys playing and watching sports, especially basketball, football, and golf. He enjoys running, listening to music, and watching movies. In his spare time, he and his family like to barbecue, go to parks, shop, or ride bikes together. Their favorite travel spots are Disneyland, Lake Powell (in Arizona) and Yosemite.
